Greetings from Washington DC! We're having a blast! Don't mind what I'm wearing, I only had a couple minutes to get ready so I just grabbed the closest things near me haha. And no make up too, blehhh! :P

Today was my dad's 49th birthday. He wanted to go downtown where the Market Square was to eat, shop around, and listen to some live music. If you can't tell, I get my looks (as well as personality) from my dad. He's a crazy fellow haha. It was so hot today though, even my sundress couldn't keep me cool. Days like today make me wish I had short hair! Still, I can't believe my dad is going to be 50 next year. I was telling him that I feel like he's been in his 40's all my life so to be another decade older is bizarre! Sigh. I wish my parents would stop getting older! It makes me sad for some reason.
Tomorrow Trae and I are off to Washington DC, so the posts for the next week are going to be minimal. But we're bringing the camera and his laptop, so I'll try to squeeze in as much as I can! I still haven't packed. I don't know what to bring! What if it rains all week while I'm there unexpectedly? Those unlucky situations tend to happen to me often. What are you guys doing for Memorial Day?
Top was a gift F21 skirt Target sandals Steve Madden sunnies
I bought this skirt back in my middle school days. I went through a phase where I suddenly wanted to be everything girly, so I hit the closest Forever 21 store and bought the girliest skirt I could find. Then I thought it made my hips look too big, so I never wore it again. Moving houses (as my parents are right now) allows you find stuff you haven't seen in ages. This skirt rose up from the ashes and I thought, "why not?" This was the result. That tank top I'm wearing actually goes down to the hem of my skirt, so I just tied it up and (hopefully) made it work. My mom asked me today, "new outfit?" to which I responded, "It's vintage." ha!
Oh, and that cat in the 3rd image totally bit me in the leg after that picture was taken. Ouch! Crazy cat.

I've noticed a few bloggers complaining about Summer and the hot weather recently, and I'm always like, "WHY??" I love this time of year! The heat, the beach, pool-time, no school (well, for me), relaxation, etc... so I never understood why so many fashion bloggers were anti-Summer. Now I get it. It limits your outfit choices! No tights, no boots, no scarves, no cardigans... why? It's too hot!! Today my city reached a high of 101 degrees... All I want to do is wear sundresses, so I'm gonna have to find a way to spice up my wardrobe for this season without suffering in this Texas weather.
Today was spent looking for a job. I applied at the closest stores to my house (which are 20 minutes away, ugh), so hopefully someone will give me an interview. I've never done retail before, anyone out there have any tips to share? Help a sista out. :)
I'm trying to get as many posts as I can within these next couple days because I leave for Washington D.C. on Monday! I'll be back on June 6th to share pictures of the trip!
Boyfriend's shirt Target shorts Charlotte Russe belt Steve Madden boots Aldo sunnies Giveaway prize necklace
Well, more like stolen FROM boyfriend. Trae was about to throw away this shirt he used to wear for work. I couldn't bare to see a perfectly nice shirt simply be tossed in the trash, so I took it! Of course it was too big for me, but after rolling up the sleeves, wrapping (not buttoning) it around my torso, and synching it with a belt, it came out fine! Not too shabby, eh? I kind of want to try it with his other shirts now... hehe. I'm also wearing the necklace I won in Gentri's giveaway! I absolutely love it.
It's hard to tell, but these pictures were taken right after I got a haircut! I got full bangs (instead of my usual side-swept bangs), but here it's hard to tell because the wind kept blowing them to the side. I'll try to get better pictures later! I was going for that Zooey Deschanel look, but it didn't exactly work out that way haha.
Also, I was just recently featured on Broke & Chic which is crazy because I've never been featured in anything! Awesome!
P.S. I noticed I gained a few more followers! Thank you guys so much!
You are looking at my first successful attempt ever at a fishtail braid! I've loved this hair style since I first laid eyes on it, but every time I tried to recreate it turned out an epic failure. It took me about 20 minutes to do; it's basically just weaving your hair together over & under repeatedly. It reminded me of art class back in 1st grade haha. There are tons of youtube video tutorials on how to do it if you're interested!
How was everyone's weekend? Mine was very relaxing. Yesterday I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean, and I loved it! It was much better than the third one if you saw it. Saturday I ended up organizing my monster of a closet while watching a Glee marathon. Pretty exciting, right? Naaht. Oh! And did you notice I'm not wearing my sunnies? How sweet it is to be able to wear contacts again.
Why am I wearing sunglasses in doors you may ask? Well, if you've been reading my past entries, I contracted an eye infection during school, so I've not been able to wear my contacts or any makeup for the past week and a half. To shield you from this horrifying image, I wore sunglasses for your protection. During this shoot, I could not see a THING. But you'll never know... Oh wait. :P
There is currently no internet at the new house my parents just moved into, so I haven't been able to visit other blogs as much as I'd like which sucks because I feel so out of the loop! Right now I'm using Trae's computer who is probably giving me the stink eye to get off the computer since it's bedtime. My internet should be up and running by mid-June, so until then, random outfit posts whenever I can find a working computer will have to suffice. Thank you to those who still drop by every now and again! Don't lose hope in me :)

What?? An outfit post? Meeeeee? Yes. Finally. My Summer has begun and I am sooo excited! Hopefully now I will have more time to devote to the bloggin' world.
I pulled a no-no in photography by shooting this around 1 pm which apparently provides the worst lighting of the day. So sorry if these pictures are blinding you. At least you can't see how wrinkly my shirt is! I got the idea to wear a belt as a headband from this cartoon character hence my title.
In super awesome news, I won a giveaway! I've never won a giveaway before, so I am totally bewildered by this! Hurray! You guys will have to check out my guest blog post over there next week! I even got this nifty award. Thanks again Gentri!
