I definitely did October the way all Octobers should be done. I went apple picking (my first time!), ate apple cider donuts, took photos in a pumpkin patch, got spooked in a haunted house (3 of them, actually...), and I got to go to Boston and finally see the beautiful fall foliage! Boston also allowed me to break out my jeans and sweaters since New England actually has seasons. Ugh, it was a dream. And on top of that, I got to go to my first music fest outside of Texas, called "Boston Calling", where I saw some of my favorite bands! I wish all my months could be this fun. :)
It's so nice to be back in plaid again. Stripes are celebrated all year round, but plaid... we all know plaid is best saved for fall and winter. Mix them together and - bam - magic. My last post must have been read by Mother Nature who decided to cut Texans a break and give us a small cool front this past weekend (you're welcome, Texas! :P), so of course I grabbed my plaid scarf and booties to take advantage of it.
I'll admit, I'm new to blanket scarves. I remember seeing them last year at Zara and suddenly they were all the rage in the blog-o-sphere. I didn't hop on board then, so now I'm finally giving them a shot! They are definitely a lot of fabric to work with, but a quick search of "how to wear a blanket scarf" on Pinterest showed me multiple ways to style them easily. Good ol' Pinterest! What did I ever do before its existence?

...Which could be why fall is my favorite season. Geez, I haven't published an outfit post in over a month! The struggle has been real, y'all. Whenever fall comes around, our Texas summer temperatures stay the same which leaves me completely uninspired with my wardrobe; I'm so envious of girls elsewhere who have actual seasons and get to dress accordingly. Although, a couple weekends ago I went to Boston where I spent a glorious few days in 50/60ish degree weather and was actually able to layer my clothes! LAYERZ!!! But did I think to bring my camera in order to document these outfits? Nope. And I'm kicking myself for it.
So for now, I'll continue to deal with the lack of autumn in Texas and post only outfits I actually wear. Which probably won't be super "fall-like" for awhile. On the bright side though, it has been nice getting to wear my normal cute clothes again. While in Tokyo I only had a select few basic pieces with me and mainly just rotated the same leggings and T-shirt combo everyday (which became very tiresome very quickly). I may or may not have hugged my closet when I got home.
