I'm starting to notice a slight pattern with my outfit choices this season; lately I've been gravitating toward black gingham A LOT. Including this post, 3 out of my last 4 outfits on the blog have included a black gingham print (evidence here and here). I've always felt that this print was meant for the colder months, while blue and red gingham make a better impression in the spring and summer. Or is that only because clothing companies make it so, and my thoughts on fashion are simply at their will? I could go into far more detail about my theories on that, but I'll save y'all the lecture.
On another note, we need to talk about these leggings and the fact that everyone should own a pair. They are suede, and they are magic. I have always been a fan of wearing leggings as pants because they're way more comfortable than jeans + I'm lazy, but these black suede leggings give the illusion that I put in some actual thought and effort to get dressed. When I first saw them, I was unsure if I could even pull them off, but I'm an advocate for trying new things and since I have zero suede in my wardrobe, I decided to give them a shot. Now they are my newest go-to piece this season! So take a good look at them now because they will probably never get worn again once the summer heat returns. I have never tried wearing suede when it's hot outside, but I imagine the results are a mix of sweaty and sticky, and I'm not about that life.
