Have you ever been intimidated by a clothing store? Like you won’t even attempt shopping there because it’s kind of overwhelming? Zara is that store for me. I don’t know why, but every time I’d go in to peruse, it felt too ~fancy~ for me. Not to mention I can usually only afford their sale racks (where there’s never anything that catches my eye) which in itself makes me think, why bother? Zara is one of those places where I hope to be able to shop in the future when I eventually have my sh*t together, but for now, I can’t really justify spending my money there.
Cue this spotted number which came to me in a thrift store. I don’t thrift nearly as much as I used to, not just because I have no time, but ever since I read this book & purged more than half my closet last year I have had no desire to bring more clutter into my life. Of everything I’ve thrifted in the past few years, I’ve kept only a tiny portion of what I bought – this dress included. It’s from Zara & cost less than what I pay for brunch! It feels like I cheated the system in a way. I’d call that a win.
