You’re looking at the outfit I’m more than likely gonna be wearing on the reg during SXSW this year. It’s so important during SXSW to be dressed comfortably because you’re going to be doing a lot of walking and a lot of just standing around. You want to be wearing good shoes and carrying as little as possible. Speaking of which, why did fanny packs ever go out of style? They’re so freakin’ convenient! I have everything I need right at my hip. I knew I wanted to style this fanny pack as soon as I saw it at Juiceland, a place I frequent more often than I probably should (it’s so good though). The colors stood out to me & I liked how it could fit all my stuff including my giant phone. I love how it’s part of our culture to make fun of people (mainly the tourist type) who wear fanny packs, and now here I am wearing one with no shame. Fashion is funny.
By the way, did y’all know “fanny” is considered a naughty word in the UK? I’ll never forget in 2010 when I was visiting my family in England, my grandpa was wearing a fanny pack and I made the comment, “Grandpa, I like your fanny pack.” He got so mad at me! I had to explain that that word means something totally harmless in the states. So yeah, if you ever make the trek across the pond, don’t make the same mistake I did. Or do, if you’re feeling brave…
