Snapshots | January

January was… weird. I know that sounds vague, but it’s the only appropriate word I can think of that accurately describes this month. Current events and the political climate have made every other thing in life seem so irrelevant and trivial. Even blogging has become a constant array of questions like, “Does anyone care? Do I care? Why are we not all screaming right now?” etc., yet here I am, still blogging. Sometimes it can feel stupid to write about the little things in life or publish an outfit post, but it honestly may be the only thing keeping me sane right now, so I refuse to give it up. Other than the apocalypse happening out in the world, this month wasn’t all bad for me. I marched with my fellow women, I went to a new brewery that opened on the east side, @512bites got invited to a food truck launch, I saw lots of awesome live music, I’ve been taking the time to get back in shape again, and I even had some beautiful flowers delivered to me yesterday courtesy of Urban Stems. I haven’t been given flowers in a long time, so it was such a lovely gesture after the long week I had. I don’t know what to expect in February, but I have a feeling it’s going to be just as weird if not more. We shall see.
