I’d like to dedicate this post to whoever made athletic wear fashionable outside of the gym.
You are the reason I was able to wear this outfit to brunch without a second thought and got zero looks of horror. What a time to be alive!
Now, I still can’t wear this outfit to a fancy cocktail bar downtown or even a first date to anywhere (one day I’ll try it though), but maybe someday in the future we’ll get there.
Baby steps, people.
Right now I’m perfectly content wearing athleisure wear in my day-to-day life while pretending that I’m actually athletic. “Fake it til you make it” is the saying, right?
I received these leggings from Outdoor Voices, a local recreational clothing shop for women I strive to look like in my ultimate #goals aspirations (AKA healthy eaters who probably do yoga 3x a week). I got the matching crop top too, but it didn’t seem appropriate to bare my stomach at brunch on a Sunday afternoon (hey, we agreed, baby steps).
I have to tell y’all, these leggings are SO comfortable! I know most leggings are comfy, but these are on a whole different level. I honestly haven’t even exercised in them yet because I’m afraid I’ll ruin them in the wash (“Sure, Rachel, that’s the reason you haven’t exercised.”).
I just wanna admire them like this forever.
I’ll eventually take them for a test run, I’m sure, but again… baby steps.
