I have been slacking a lot on my monthly updates, so I thought I would just do a quarterly check in on how life has been going and what I’ve been up to. To be honest, it’s been rough y’all. I’ve had important friendships deteriorate, had my heart bruised, friends move away, a trip I was so excited for get cancelled, unintentionally hurt people close to me (and vise versa), and a lot of other let-downs that at this point just feel pointless repeating. But of course with most lows there are highs, and I’ve had plenty of those as well! In February I got to experience Mardi Gras in New Orleans for my very first time, I walked in support of the Women’s March, and I started working at a local Austin startup that I absolutely adore. In March the craziness of SXSW began, and I met some amazing new people and discovered awesome new bands (plus somehow made it to the front row for Weezer, whaaa?). Then in April I attended my favorite music fest, Euphoria, which was such a blast — along with Easter with the fam, a spontaneous trip to College Station (Aggies are cray), multiple trips to the greenbelt, and lots of live music. It has been an eventful couple of months, to say the least!
May has also been off to a great start as well. This past weekend I went to a concert event called JMBLYA and finally saw my favorite dude, Chance the Rapper, perform. It was amazing!! I also made sure to make time for the Pecan Street Festival which is one of the BEST events in Austin! Have y’all ever been? It’s a free event filled with tons of local art, music, and food! What more do you need? This year I was asked to check out the Studio Ink lounge by Hallmark which was SO fun! They had the cutest cards that you could send straight from the fest and an adorable photobooth that I definitely took advantage of more than once. Dani Austin, another fellow blogger (seen above), was there as well! She helped me pick out the perfect card for my mom this Sunday. If you’re still looking for a Mother’s Day card, the Studio Ink selection is the best (be sure to tag your posts with #sayitwithINK if you order from them!). 🙂 What are y’all doing for Mother’s Day?
