So I haven’t mentioned this yet because maybe I’m still in denial, but a couple months ago my friend convinced me to sign up for a half marathon in Austin taking place next February. I must have been feeling particularly confident that day because I signed up without hesitation–me, a girl who has zero marathon training and has not ran a mile in over a year. Truth be told, I used to only run, but then I joined The Barre Code &my focus shifted from cardio to strength training. But! I am determined to get a jump start on training and mark the Austin half-marathon off my bucket list.
I knew I needed new running shoes to kick start my training, so I was SUPER pumped when Zappos reached out to me to try their new Hoka One One Cavu running shoes! My favorite thing about them is that they have a thick wide sole for extra comfort which is perfect for me! I’m secretly a grandma who could use all the extra foot support she can get, haha. I went on my first run with them last week around the lake here in Austin and already feel a huge improvement from my last pair of running shoes. Maybe I’ll forego the half marathon altogether and just go for the full marathon? Just kidding; let’s not get ahead of ourselves…
